Ferns do not have seeds, they have spores. Spores are released from Sporangia. Spores fall to the ground. If conditions prevail, spores develop into gametophyte. Gametophyte fertilizes itself, develops into a sporophyte. Sporophyte grows and matures, gradually unfurls its fronds. Spores grow in sori. When the pouch structures dries out and releases the tension, the spores burst out. The ferns can also reproduce asexually if severed.
